This will prevent damages to the tunnel and trucks and will reduce the economical cost of congestion.

In practice the system has successfully been used in Holland at the Botlektunnel on the A15 near Rotterdam and on the A22 at the Velsertunnel near Amsterdam. On both locations the systems has helped to reduce the number of too high
trucks, so the economical costs have been reduced.
